I have a deep love for Encinitas which started when I moved to the community in the summer of 1960 at the age of 9 months old.
I attended Ocean Knoll (kindergarten) and St. John (1st – 6th grades) elementary schools, Oak Crest Junior High and graduated from San Dieguito High School in 1977, where I focused my studies on the graphic arts. M, and continued studies in the graphic arts at Palomar and Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. He works in the printing industry and continues to pursue his interests in photography. In 1985, Tony married Cynthia Blodgett and they have three grown children.
My involvement in the community includes 10 years of service as an air traffic controller in the Army National Guard. He's a former board member of the Encinitas Historical Society and the Leucadia-Encinitas Town Council, and was on the Athletic Council at San Dieguito Academy while his children were participating in sports at the school. He's been involved in trying to make the community more walkable by advocating for the North 101 Streetscape project and was a strong advocate for the improvements to Leucadia Boulevard west of I-5.
